Although the only male pro in the field, Australian Andrew Noble rocked out a 2:13:57 to win XTERRA Guam Saturday, solidifying his recent sweep of Western Pacific races. The 42-year-old won XTERRA Saipan two weeks ago, then took gold at Saipan’s Tagaman Sprint Triathlon last weekend. Noble led the largely Micronesian field from start to finish, stroking through the 1km swim in Piti Bay in just over five minutes, logging a dominating 1:17 split on the 27km mountain bike course and putting on a solo show on the run to finish eight minutes ahead of the next competitor.
On the women’s side, Meiko Carey of Saipan overtook Guam’s Shannon Cutting on the run to win her first race of the season, after taking third place at XTERRA Saipan. Cutting crossed the line eight minutes back of Carey for second, while fellow Guam resident Susan Seay nabbed the bronze.
